What is the Liebster Award

So I got a message the other day from a fellow blogger, asking if it would be ok to nominate me for the Liebster Award, and being that I am a New Yorker, aka a die-hard skeptic my initial response was, “Thanks, can you send me the specs of such award?” As you can see, I’ve been burnt one too many times by the Publishing Clearing House mail with the million dollar check peeping through the envelope window.

After some research I realized that the Liebster award is a real thing, and actually an honor! How the Liebster award works is, bloggers nominate other bloggers who they feel are “doin’ the darned thang”, when it comes to blogging, then assigns them a set of questions to answer, and ask that they pass this honor along by nominating a few of the bloggers whom they admire.

I’m  Cara, the creator and author of the Lifestyle Blog: CaraMiaWhy. I am a health research and promotion professional, completing my PhD in Health Psychology, living in the Bronx, New York with my husband and three girls.

You Don’t Have To Be One Or The Other

Too often those who set a goal to life a healthy and happy life get boxed into a modern-day hippie or touchy-feely box. While there certainly is nothing wrong with either of those boxes, what we must not forget—is that it doesn’t have to be one or the other!

  • You can want to feed your family a diet that consists mostly of clean green foods, and still eat a cheese doodle now and then.
  • You can be a fan of natural beauty, and step outside each day in a head-turning fashions.
  • You can maintain a relationship with your general health practitioner, yet turn to a naturopath and other alternative practices as your first line of defense.
  • You can mediate every morning, and hit the dancefloor in the evenings to get your groove on.
  • You can work out 5 days a week, yet still cherish your fabulous curves.

It Is Never A Choice Between The Two! A Balanced Life Is A Healthy Life

As a health researcher and constant “self-improver”, many of my friends and family members would reach out to me regarding everything from wellness, homeopathic health solution, natural beauty products, motherhood, relationships, emotional health—and of course fashion and style.
